A pinch of Africa.......

Africa a continent that is seen with low reputaion by the rest of the world is suprisingly the birth of civilizations. Looking at it from the evolutionary point of view our ancestors or the starters of human beings(homo sapiens) were all africans. The austalopithecus Africanus, the australopithecus afarensis, etc are the for fathers of the human race and all of them were residents of Africa. Their evolution and migration due to climatic conditions and change in the nature of the earth have given rise to the present day earth we are now enjoying.
Africa, a home to different tribes and cultures are very diverse in terms of religious and cultural beliefs. In countries like Gambia, the ethnic groups that are about 10 to 13 in number, but in places like Nigeria you have 350 to 450 ethnic groups. The Igbo tribe is one of the major ethnic groups with aculture that have existed for about 200 to 300 years ago. They have a unique language and have a very rich cultuaral and traditional status. Masquerades and shrines seen around igbo communities show the long time heritage of the igbo community. Although Christianity has tried its best in erasing this rich cultural heritage inherited by the igbos from their ancestors. The igbos are still one of the major cultures in Nigeria with a very rich cultural background..
