Slavery: A modern problem
There is a definite issue concerning the socio-economic makeup of this country. It is clearly divided amongst race. This current national government as well as the majority of those which have preceded it have done nothing to rectify this issue of imbalance. While the U.S. Senate and House appropriate bills which send billions of aid dollars over seas they choose to forget about the poverty being felt by their fellow Americans only a few blocks away in South East D.C. It would appear that this system in which runs the country doesn't have the ability to do, or even care about the socio-economic imbalance slavery and the after effects of slavery have caused.
